Transformative Currents: Art and Action in the Pacific Ocean
Exhibition, 2024
Transformative Currents: Art and Action in the Pacific Ocean (Oceanside Museum of Art, 2024) examines the historical causes and ongoing effects of the cultural and environmental devastation of the Pacific Ocean and harnesses art’s potential to enact positive ecological change, both planetary and local. Bull Kelp is a continuation of the material explorations of Language for the Wrack Zone, in large-scale. It is produced with kelp, gouache, bitumen and seawater, and is 100” x 166” or 8.3 x 13 feet across three panels.
